Our most important meeting of the year is coming up on September 15th at 6:30 pm. This is a must attend event. We will be updating our By Laws, updating the Description of Responsibilities for our board members and voting in our Getnew Board of Directors who will serve our garden and membership for the next two years. Positions being filled are President, Treasurer, Secretary, Forest Garden Coordinator and Director of Digital Media & Communications.
Current candidates for each position are:
President – Teresa Hall
Treasurer – Kathleen Willis
Secretary – Diane Wilson
Forest Garden Coordinator – Chris Serville
Director of Digital Media & Communications – Josh Thomas
Chair positions available include:
Garden Leader – Owen Smith
Scholarship Chair –
Program Chair – Lee Sutherland
Membership Chair – Teresa Hall
Plant Sales Chair – Teresa Hall
Members can still enter to run for any board position or sign up for a chair position by emailing Paula Olesen at ApolloBeachGardenClub@gmail.com. There can be more than one chairperson for a category and members are encouraged to seek additional information ahead of our membership meeting. Volunteering for a chair position is the best path to board leadership roles where members can learn and grow with the organization.
Directly following our membership meeting, guest speaker and garden member Mike Noble will guide us on how to turn everyday ingredients into a living, bubbly starter and teach us the art of shaping truly great dough.
This hands-on session focuses on the dough work itself through dough folding demonstrations. Come get comfortable with the feel of the dough, learn how folds build structure, and take home tips you can use long after class ends. There’s no baking during the class, so you can fully enjoy the learning, the flour-dusted fun, and the satisfaction of learning the steps before the oven ever comes into play. There will be very tasty samples available for all to enjoy.
Bring your curiosity and come ready to fold, learn, and leave with fresh confidence—plus a path to your own sourdough journey at home.
